Step away from the chocolate...

Today I am working on my dissertation all day. I only have 4 weeks left. It's the final hurdle but still such a struggle to concentrate on one topic for so long.

When I'm essay writing I get the munchies. I'm not sure if it's a form of procrastination or if I'm genuinely hungry.

I love keeping fit and healthy but my diet has lacked A LOT since I've been working on my university work from home. I am a major chocoholic.

I can easily make my way through 5 chocolate bars in one day - but I can admit it doesn't make me feel too great and it's not very good for my brain either!

I decided I need to put an end to my bad snacking habits. I can notice a difference in my fitness ability when I have been eating badly, in this last month my trips to the gym have been a lot harder work and I feel far less energetic than I do when I'm not eating one million biscuits a day.

My solution was to chop up lots of yummy fruit at the beginning of the day and that can be my snack box! It has worked a treat! (treat, get it!?). I've also got a big bottle of water to keep my brain refreshed, instead of sugary drinks such as Lucozade and Red Bull that we often think will help us stay "focused'.

I really recommend this method of preparing your snacks and food at the beginning of the day. Remember to keep your diet balanced and natural.

"If it doesn't fly, walk, swim or isn't green don't eat it." - Russell Bateman.

I feel much better already so let's see if I can keep it up this week, it might even help me to get a first in my degree!
